Oki Tour

Identity for a personal tour guide based in Okinawa, Japan.
A bespoke letter “k” was created using traditional Japanese brush calligraphy (shūji). Placed inside a vibrant orange rising sun, this created a graphic symbol “ok” referencing the abbreviation of Okinawa to Oki.
Shisa illustrations were also created to complement the logo. Shisa are “guardian lions” from Okinawa mythology, believed to ward off evil spirits (open mouth) and keep good spirits in (closed mouth).
The end result is a brand which is instinctively Japanese, embracing the heritage and culture whilst feeling sophisticated, friendly and unique.
